Some things stay with you.
When our team from Beauty Behind Gospel Church and HIANA made the trip to Henry House Community School in Ho, Ghana, we didn’t go with assumptions, we went to listen, to look, and to genuinely understand what was needed.
What we found were children full of life and potential, teachers giving everything they have, and a school leadership doing remarkable work with very limited resources.
We couldn’t leave that behind. So we didn’t.
About Henry House Community School
Henry House Community School was founded in 2010 by Dr. David Atubra and Mrs. Bernice Atubra, a couple from Ghana’s Volta Region who built distinguished careers abroad and then chose to invest in the community they came from.
Their vision was straightforward: quality education for children who might otherwise never have access to it.
Fifteen years on, that vision is real. Over 200 students, 80+ students on scholarship programs, hundreds of young lives are being shaped. A school that has become the first choice in its area.
Now why are we standing in the gap?
We visited. We spoke with the headmistress, the teachers, the parents and the students.
We saw first-hand where the gaps are and what the school needs, and we made a decision as a community to do something about it.
Through Beauty Behind Gospel Church and HIANA (Hope In A New Age) organisation, both based here in Birmingham, we are building a lasting bridge between our community in the UK and the children and families of Henry House. This isn’t a one-off donation drive. It’s an ongoing relationship, built on trust, presence, and a genuine commitment to seeing these children thrive.
Our Goal: £10.000
Every pound raised goes directly to the school.
Your donation will:
→ Sponsoring children into the September academic year, so no child misses school because their family can’t afford the fees
→ Providing essential classroom resources including whiteboards, Books, ICT equipments also giving teachers the tools they need to teach well.
→ Strengthening the school’s capacity to grow and serve even more students in the years ahead
But It Takes All of Us
It takes a community to build a community.
That’s why we went, it’s why we’re raising this money, and it’s why we’re asking you to be part of this.
Whether you can give £1, £10 or £1,000, it matters. Every contribution gets us closer to a school that is fully resourced, fully supported, and able to give every single child the education they deserve.
Please give what you can and share this with someone who will.
£10,000. Real children. Real impact. Real community
