My name is Erin and I moved to Colombia with a vision to help animals. I purchased a few acres of land and rescued two cows. In doing so I transitioned from vegetarian to vegan and now I want to slowly build a small animal refuge and place for tourists to visit, meet farm animals and realize that they are no different than the pets that they love so dearly. My dream is to inspire more people to go vegan. My first two rescue cows Nessa and Fiyero have already influenced some of my friends to stop eating beef. Nessa is Fiyero's mother and seeing them together and the bond they share is such an inspiration to go vegan. My goal is to begin building more pastures and housing for pigs. Any help from others who are passionate about influencing veganism while supporting animals getting rescued from slaughter goes a long way! This is only the beginning and I can't wait to see what this dream of mine can turn into. I will call the refuge Vicki's Village in honor of my soul dog who passed away. I was able to purchase the land thanks to Jasper's Utila Animal Rescue and I also plan to help take in dogs that have the lowest chance of adoption to live out their lives in a place they can have more freedom and space.
