The past two years have been financially brutal. Between 2024 and 2025, I experienced multiple layoffs and long stretches of instability. Even doing everything “right,” I fell behind on rent and essential bills — and once you’re behind, it’s incredibly hard to catch up. I’m grateful to say I’m now fully employed. But the financial impact from that period hasn’t disappeared, and I’m still working to close the gap. At the same time, I’m actively building my writing — especially my Substack — into a sustainable second source of income.
