BioHarmonic Solutions

Hello, my name is Jacob Foster. I am a BioHarmonic Architect, working to help restore our land and our people. Capitalism has ravaged both, caring only for the accumulation of wealth by those in power. It is time to re-architect our communities to care for the land and ALL of the creatures that dwell in it.

My approach is multi-faceted, and will likely take several years to fully realize. Right now, I am transitioning out of a decade in the Software industry and into BioHarmonic Architecture.

When the weather is good, I want to be outside building and experimenting with Domesteading. I will be documenting all of our beautiful successes and glorious failures for others to learn from on YouTube and the blog. Once I have ironed out the details and proven that my mad-scientist ideas work, I will contribute them to whichever open-source projects will have them (Open Source Ecology, One Community Global, etc).

When the weather is not so good, I want to be building an OpenVillage Simulator. It will use all open-source software (git, Blender, Godot, etc) to build a "game" similar to SimCity. But instead of building skyscrapers and tracking material wealth and productivity, we will build sustainable buildings (EarthShips, earthbag domes, strawbale homes, etc) and track things like energy consumption, food production, and housing capacity. All buildable objects will link out to real open-source plans for you to build every component of the village you imagine yourself. If there is enough interest or sponsorship opportunity, it could also link to eco-products to complement the DIY-able objects with buy-able products.

Once I have refined the Domesteading process and have the OpenVillage Simulator up and running, I will start using both to build Restorative EcoVillages in the Ozarks BioRegion. This will involve the creation of a non-profit organization to house funds and organize/pay people to bring them to life.

I want everything I learn and come up with to be free and open-source, usable by anyone who wants to follow a similar path. Unfortunately, that makes it difficult to acquire materials and provide for my family in a capitalist society. That's where this campaign comes in.

I have a spot of land to start building on, and most of the tools/materials that I need. The money from this campaign is going to fund the remaining materials I need to get building, and my time (to continue supporting my family) while I work. Building a Domestead for my own family first will enable us to lower our cost-of-living, and allow me to devote more of my time to bringing my other BioHarmonic dreams to life.

If the BioHarmonic EcoVillages flourish, I would also like to tackle BioGas Fueling and Compost stations, SolarPunking the Mall (composting, greenhouse domes, etc), and who knows what else I may find along the way.

Thank you for reading. I would thoroughly appreciate your help building toward a BioHarmonic future.
