A Pride parade float built by Girls Garage!

Tax deductible
This summer, our Young Women's + Design Building Institute will design and construct a 16-foot toolbox float (with giant wooden tools) to march alongside during the San Francisco Pride Parade
Can you help us raise $25,000 for our Young Women's Design + Building Institute project and program?

This amounts helps us cover:
• 2 weeks of FREE programming for 36 students
• free fully stocked toolboxes for all students
• salaries for our excellent instructors
• registration fee for SF Pride Parade
• renting a trailer
• material costs (lumber, hardware, paint, snacks etc.)

Our students hold varying identities, perspectives, and lived experiences, and we strive to listen and adapt our projects to meet them where they're at. Our Pride float acknowledges the intersecting identities of our LGBTQIA+ students and their allies, celebrating them for exactly who they are when they walk through our doors!

This project offers a creative response to gender-based inequity and transphobia through harnessing the talent and power of 36 students to construct a large-scale community project. It's an opportunity to center our gender-expansive and LGBTQIA+ students, allowing them to explore and express the complex personal and political issues that impact their daily lives.

This project is an act of courage for students and instructors alike. We believe our example will instigate change within other nonprofits and educational programs to acknowledge and celebrate their LGBTQIA+ participants.

On June 26, our students will march proudly down Market Street with the inaugural Girls Garage float in front of thousands of people, and we can't wait to march beside them!

Please show your support by donating today to our Building Pride campaign!

Your donation will be matched by the incredible generosity of Level 10 Construction, J. Sander and P. White, Women's Catalytic Fund, Supplyframe, Chronicle Books and Aron Michalski.
