Building My Future After Cancer — College Tuition Help

Hi everyone,
My name is Shylah, and I’m raising $4,000 to help pay for tuition, books, and other school supplies at Salt Lake Community College, where I’ll be starting school in the fall semester as a psychology major.
I’m 39 years old and returning to school after a lot of life experience. At 35, I was diagnosed with Level 1 autism, which helped me better understand myself and how I move through the world. Then at 37, I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. I’m incredibly grateful to say I’m now in remission, and ready to focus on building my future.
This fall, I’ll be taking two classes for my first semester. I only need four more classes to complete my program and receive my associate degree, which makes this an important and achievable milestone for me.
I’m asking for help because I don’t currently qualify for student loans. Due to approved math accommodations, I’ve had to take additional coursework, which has left me with more credit hours toward my degree than are allowed for loan eligibility. Because of this, I’m responsible for covering tuition and supplies out of pocket.
Right now, the cost of school is my biggest hurdle. Any donation — big or small — will go directly toward my education. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this fundraiser still means the world to me.
Thank you so much for reading and for supporting me as I take this next step forward. ❤️
