Queer Stability is dedicated to creating lasting security and opportunity for LGBTQ+ people in Washington State's South Puget Sound Area. Too often, queer individuals and organizations are displaced by rising rents and lack of access to generational wealth. Many LGBTQ+ people are left out of traditional family wealth transfers, making it difficult to build stability or invest in their own communities. Queer Stability is working to change this by purchasing properties for LGBTQ+ businesses and individuals, ensuring that our community can put down roots and thrive.

We’ve already seen the difference this approach can make. For example, we’re currently advising an LGBTQ+ organization that operates at a deficit while renting from a non-LGBTQ+ landlord. By helping them activate underused spaces, create collaborative partnerships, and explore relocation into a property owned by Queer Stability, we’re building pathways for community dollars to stay within the LGBTQ+ community. Our goal is to create permanence in place, so that LGBTQ+ people and organizations can become both tenants and property owners, keeping wealth, opportunity, and stability where it belongs.

Our most urgent need is funding for property acquisition. This is part of a larger, multi-pronged approach that includes three giving circles—two nonprofit and one for-profit—allowing us to support both charitable efforts and business sustainability. Consistent monthly or quarterly donations are especially valuable, as they help us qualify for property purchases and financing. With your support, we can move from renting to owning, creating safe, affirming spaces that anchor LGBTQ+ life, business, and culture in the South Sound for generations to come.
