Help Us Empower Individuals with Disabilities Through Directing My Life

Hi friends, family, and community members!

We’re reaching out on behalf of Directing My Life, a passionate organization dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities, ages 14 and up, in becoming as independent as possible. We do this through job readiness training, social skills development, community engagement, and other support services that meet each person where they are.

Why We’re Raising Funds

As we grow, we want to be sure we have the tools and resources to provide high-quality support, host inclusive events, and prepare our team to serve our community even better. The funds raised will help us cover:

Technology Needs

We’re hoping to purchase a desktop and a laptop to support both in-office work and remote community outreach efforts.

Employee Training

We want to continue investing in our staff so they can stay up to date on best practices and provide exceptional care and coaching.

Vendor Event Supplies

We attend local vendor and community events to share our mission, connect with families, and spread awareness—these supplies will help us look professional and inviting.

Marketing Materials & Expenses

Flyers, brochures, social media promotion—all the tools to get our message out and connect with those who need our services most.

General Operating Costs

Your support will help us cover essential monthly expenses like rent, insurance, staff wages, and program supplies. These are the foundational costs that allow us to keep our services running smoothly and ensure our team can continue showing up for the individuals and families who rely on us.

Supplies for Future Events & Client Programs

Your support will help us continue offering engaging social events—like dances, game nights, and cooking classes—that give our clients opportunities to connect and have fun in a supportive environment. It will also fund important materials for our training programs, including curriculum for social skills development and job readiness, helping our clients build confidence and prepare for more independent lives.

A Safer Vehicle for Client Transportation

We're also working toward purchasing a newer, safer vehicle to transport our clients to job sites, community outings, and events. Reliable and accessible transportation is key to helping them stay connected and build independence—and this upgrade would make a huge difference in both safety and comfort.
