Seven years ago I was hopeless and homeless, trapped in addiction and believing my life would never change.
Through God and my recovery program, everything changed. Today I have been sober for over six years, and I’ve been blessed to build an amazing life, a family, and successful businesses. Recovery gave me a second chance at life—and I believe everyone deserves that same opportunity.
That’s why this mission means so much to me.
In the Highlands of Papua New Guinea, addiction is a growing problem—but there have been almost no resources for people who want help.
Today, Bridging Gap, the first drug and alcohol rehabilitation center in PNG, is open and already helping many people begin their journey to recovery. Lives are being changed and families are being restored.
Bridging Gap operates in partnership with Adult & Teen Challenge Global, a recovery organization many people in the United States recognize. This partnership helps bring structured recovery programs and support to Papua New Guinea.
However, the center still needs critical infrastructure to continue growing.
Right now they are raising $12,000 to build a staff housing building on the property. Because the center is located in a remote part of the Papua New Guinea Highlands, having a place for counselors, staff, and volunteers to stay is essential for the program to continue operating and helping more people.
Another challenge is that there is little to no government support for addiction recovery programs in this region. The center largely sustains itself by selling vegetables and chickens at the local market, which brings in around $100 per month. Despite these very limited resources, they continue helping people who desperately need recovery.
In July, my wife and our kids will travel to PNG for two weeks to volunteer our time and help support the work being done there. Along with helping on the ground, we will also be bringing recovery books and resources with us to help support the people going through the program. We are also personally donating because we believe deeply in what this center is doing.
This project will help:
• Provide housing for counselors and staff serving the program
• Allow volunteers to stay on-site and support the community
• Strengthen PNG’s only addiction treatment center
• Help more people break free from drug and alcohol addiction
The goal is simple: raise $12,000 to build the staff housing needed to support the people doing this life-saving work.
If just 120 people gave $100, the entire building could be funded.
If you feel led to help, please consider donating or sharing this campaign. Every contribution helps strengthen a program that is already changing lives in Papua New Guinea.
Thank you for being part of this mission.
