My name is David Piper, and I’m raising funds to return to Guatemala for a week-long service trip April 26th to May 3rd, 2026. This trip is especially meaningful to me as I celebrate my 40th Birthday and the memory of my Father-in-Law by serving in a country that changed my life.

My heart’s desire is to build a house in my father-in-law’s honor, Wade Powers, who passed away on Thanksgiving after three months in the ICU. I’ll be joining friends from three churches to continue the work of building houses, sharing the gospel and distributing wheelchairs to those in need.

Your support will directly cover my in country expenses ($775) and home build for Papa Wade Powers ($3,350). Any additional funds will go directly toward building more homes, providing wheelchairs, food, and Bibles for people who need them most.

Why Guatemala? I lived in Guatemala from 2007 to 2008, and the experiences I had there helped shape who I am today. One of my most cherished memories is building a house that my father donated before he passed away—a project that brought hope to a Guatemalan widow and her family. I hope to do the same for my father-in-law as well.
