Building Fire Displaces Kat and Rick's Family
Donation protected
On 5/24/23 Kat and Rick, along with their two little daughters, Kayla and Mariah, lost their home in a tragic fire in Waialua, Oahu that killed a man and displaced several families from the building where they lived.
That day, they woke up as usual. Rick went to work and Kat went out to take Kayla to daycare and to run errands with Mariah. After that normal morning, everything changed for them, as they were unable to return to home. No clean clothes to change or food on the fridge, no diapers for the girls or clean bottle for Mariah. Imagine leaving your house one morning and coming back to nothing. We are relieved that they are safe, however, they have been left with not much on their backs from ashes and toxic contamination. They are currently in the painful process of grieving for what they had and rebuilding their lives and home.
We are asking our community and friends of friends to come together to donate what you can, so they can get back to the lives they once had before this tragic day. I cannot imagine how challenging it would be to lose it all and start from scratch while taking care of your kids.Anything helps, a donation, a share, or sending healing their way.
Anyone familiar with Kat and Rick and their little ones know that they are generous with their homes and heart, and we hope we can pull together and share with them in return during their time of immense need.
With much gratitude,
Kat's and Rick's friends
