Help me stay in Canada!

Hey everyone!

My name is jagtar singh and I’m an international student and pursuing my digital marketing at St. Lawrence College in Canada

Like many of my international peers, I have struggled to pay my tuition, but with a lot of sacrifice and hard work, I have been able to pay off my first semester fees.

My situation, however, has taken a drastic turn. Since the pandemic, my parents have been carrying over a moderate amount of debt, and with the current economic state of my home country , my parents haven’t had any source of income for paying my fees, while being more than $60,000 CAD in debt themselves.

This has made it almost impossible to continue paying for my studies, my income I earn from the my job I have. Because I am not a permanent resident or Canadian citizen, I am not eligible for Canadian student loans. I am also not eligible for student loans in my home country because of my parents’ debt, as they would have to be my cosigners.

It’s gotten to the point where I have looked into the possibility of dropping out of school to work for at least a year and then come back, but unfortunately it would impact my immigration status.

I am currently working a jobs on and off-campus, amounting to 12 hours per week, because no jobs in Kingston (small town in Canada) I am still short of money to be able to fully pay my next semester of college, with my tuition debt amounting to $10,000. If I can’t pay off my this year of college, I won’t be able to enroll in next semester.

Above all, I want to stay at school. I want to graduate and receive the degree I have worked so hard for. College has transformed me and taught me the meaning of hard work.

I believe there is more of my story to be told, and I want to keep telling it. Today, I ask you to give me a chance to follow my dreams and accomplish my goals, whether it is by donating in any way you can, or simply sharing this with your network; I would immensely appreciate it.

Je m'appelle Jagtar Singh et je suis un étudiant international qui poursuit mes études en marketing numérique au St. Lawrence College au Canada.

Comme beaucoup de mes pairs internationaux, j’ai eu du mal à payer mes frais de scolarité, mais grâce à beaucoup de sacrifices et de travail acharné, j’ai pu payer mes frais de premier semestre.

Mais ma situation a pris une tournure radicale. Depuis la pandémie, mes parents ont un montant modéré de dettes, et avec la situation économique actuelle de mon pays d'origine, mes parents n'ont aucune source de revenus pour payer mes frais, tout en étant endettés de plus de 60 000 $ CAD. eux-mêmes.

J’en suis arrivé au point où j’ai étudié la possibilité d’abandonner mes études pour travailler pendant au moins un an, puis de revenir, mais malheureusement, cela aurait un impact sur mon statut d’immigration.

Je travaille actuellement sur et hors campus, soit 12 heures par semaine, car pas d'emploi à Kingston (petite ville du Canada). Je manque encore d'argent pour pouvoir payer intégralement mon prochain semestre universitaire, avec mon dette de scolarité s'élevant à 10 000 $. Si je ne parviens pas à payer mes études universitaires cette année, je ne pourrai pas m'inscrire au semestre prochain.

Je veux avant tout rester à l’école. Je veux obtenir mon diplôme et recevoir le diplôme pour lequel j'ai travaillé si dur. L'université m'a transformé et m'a appris le sens du travail acharné.

Je crois qu’il y a encore beaucoup à raconter sur mon histoire et je veux continuer à la raconter. Aujourd'hui, je vous demande de me donner une chance de réaliser mes rêves et d'atteindre mes objectifs, que ce soit en faisant un don de toutes les manières possibles, ou simplement en partageant cela avec votre réseau ; Je l'apprécierais énormément.
