RISE for Justice is a 501c4 nonprofit whose mission is Protecting our futures by defending rights now. The vision of the organization is to fight oppression and rights infringement of fellow Hoosiers through peaceful protest, unbiased education and influencing government decision makers. Along with the RISE for Justice Board of Directors, our University of North Texas "Pathways to Civic Engagement" class is fundraising to help the RiSE for Justice mission. We are specifically fundraising to build a civic education program that can be used all over the state, and potentially be customized and duplicated in other states. When we are educated about how our government works, what our rights are, and how we can participate, we are empowered to improve our communities!
