Building Back Jamaica One House At A Time
0% complete
$6,920 raised of
40 donations
Hello everyone,
Mother Nature released the wrath of Melissa unto Montego Bay, Jamaica, leaving behind a wreckage like no other. Relief has poured into Jamaica from all corners of the world; the support is staggering. However, the wake of destruction is far and wide, and there are many who will fall through the cracks.
My daughter Havana Solaun (#6 for the Reggae Girlz 2018-2023) and I have joined together to do our part, and we are asking for you to join our village and help rebuild St. James (Parish in Montego Bay) one house at a time. We will profile and target a few families, offering assistance in purchasing the necessities to rebuild: zinc, lumber, plywood, chainsaws, etc. Every dollar donated will go toward supplies for the families (including food and household items). We would also like to purchase a Starlink to set up in the local school so the community will have access to the internet.
I believe in total transparency, and every receipt will be posted, along with photos of our progress.
We cannot save every family, but we can make a difference in a few, and pay our blessings forward.
Thank you for your help,
Havana and Sandra
PROFILES
AUTUM CRAIG 84 - The house beside her photo is of her home after Melissa visited. She went to a shelter and returned to the destruction, she remains in the shelter. ( Food and supplies for her home are needed, zinc, lumber, generator)
PATRCIA TAYLOR - ( Lady in red ) 36 years old, lives with her mother and two young children, she is seated on the remnants of her home. (Food and supplies for her home are needed, zinc, lumber generator)
PASTOR EFESO - of the Fyffes Pen Moravin Church - he sheltered people during the storm (including Autumn Craig). The photo beside him is the aftermath of Melissa. The church lost the roof but the roof on the hall and the kitchen remained intact where Pastor Efeso sheltered people from the community. (We would like to put a generator and Starlink at the church so the community can have access to wifi. Food and supplies are also needed.)
Rebuilding - one person at a time. Thank You for helping.
