The Story
The Real Pearl Foundation is a non-governmental organization with the mission to develop communities in one of the most underprivileged regions in Europe: Berettyóújfalu in eastern Hungary. Here, families with young children often live in homes without fixtures, electricity or heating.
Founded in 1999, the Real Pearl Foundation plays a critical role by assisting with family care, providing vocational training and creating employment opportunities so these communities can dream of a different future and life themselves out of poverty.
Since 2016, TreasureRome has supported the Real Pearl Foundation, which provides artistic education to 600 students annually, and their social enterprise "SZUNO" ("Dream") project.
By teaching a creative means of expression and providing a sense of community, the program helps to foster resilience in at-risk youth, while encouraging young people work towards a better future.
We decided to support the "SZUNO " project because it directly creates jobs and sense of belonging for children and their parents - together they paint, embroider and sell whimsical products like painted treasure boxes, embroidered pouches, backpacks, note pads, laptop bags and more to raise money and save towards their future.
The Arts Camp
The Real Pearl Foundation received a donation of a piece of land on Szentendre island on the Danube River, near Budapest. We are raising money to build a summer camp for the children on the island.
Here's a breakdown of the costs:
School
- Construct a wooden (light) structure building on the land - €4,000
- Supply of electricity, water and sewage - €3,500
- Furniture, desks, etc - €2,000
Summer Camp
3 rounds of summer camp, weekly rotation, 8 children at a time in a year
Supply costs and travel expenses are for total of 24 children and 6 teachers for the year 2020
- Food and art supply - €3,500
- Travel expenses - €2,000
Realizzare un campo artistico a Szentendre (Ungheria) a favore di bambini che vivono in condizioni di estrema povertà.
È l'obbiettivo della mostra con raccolta fondi benefica "Facciamo Spazio ai Sogni dei Bambini – un Dipinto alla Volta” in programma dal 2 al 7 dicembre nelle sale del piano nobile dell’Accademia d’Ungheria in via Giulia, 1 a Roma.
La manifestazione è organizzata a favore della Fondazione Real Pearl da TreasureRome, una piccola società di gestione appartamenti prestigiosi, a conduzione famigliare di origini ungheresi.
Le venti opere esposte raccontano la vita di tanti bambini che sperano in un futuro lontano dalla povertà e dalla discriminazione. La speranza di una vita migliore rappresentata su meravigliose tele colorate.
Il Campo Artistico
La raccolta di beneficenza ha come obiettivo la realizzazione di un fabbricato leggero sul terreno (ricevuto in dono, situato sull'isola pittoresca di Szentendre), la fornitura di elettricità, acqua e fognature, la preparazione completa per poter ospitare 8 bambini con 2 insegnanti, a rotazione settimanale in un campo artistico durante le vacanze estive.
La Fondazione Real Pearl opera da vent'anni nei villaggi della regione più orientale dell’Ungheria, che è anche la più povera e disagiata, con l’obiettivo di offrire istruzione ai più piccoli e sostegno al lavoro per i loro genitori.
Queste famiglie spesso vivono in abitazioni senza infissi, senza energia elettrica, riscaldamento. I bambini vengono ghettizzati a scuola e la loro esistenza sembra essere segnata da un destino comune a quello dei loro famigliari.
TreasureRome ha scelto come suo progetto di responsabilità sociale quello di donare in via diretta per sostenere il lavoro della Fondazione Real Pearl nonchè quello di far conoscere al pubblico più possibile la realtà e i sogni di questi bambini in Italia.
