ANTHONY’S ARMY
They say “it takes a village,” right!? Well, we need an ARMY! How does a child adequately portray to the world just how important and necessary this Go Fund Me is!? How can I possibly articulate in one brief narrative how much I love my father, Anthony Knoll, and have that translate to you, our “ARMY” of friends, family, and acquaintances!? If you know anything about my parent’s, you know they would give you the shirt off their backs, quite literally! Now, I am reaching out to the world, with a prayer in my heart, to help my Dad beat bladder cancer!
The biggest support to help him fully focus on that, is to take away the financial sting and burden that has already started to pile up!
For the past 2 years, my Dad has not felt well. He had gone in to his Primary Care Physician numerous times, and was continually treated for kidney stones! Often, the diagnosis was solely based on the hematuria (blood in the urine), and severe flank pain………no x-ray taken! If it wasn’t for my Dad going into Septic Shock, and my Mom pushing for a Cystoscopy to go past the prostate and in to the bladder, they would not have caught the bladder cancer as soon as they did!
I am forever grateful to my Mom, Karina, for following her intuition, and advocating for my Dad. Now, he has the opportunity to FIGHT, and kick cancer’s ass!
If it isn’t enough to have to deal with the physical, mental, and emotional toll that his bladder cancer is taking out on him, he is worried sick about the financial toll it will be on our family! THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE A CONCERN FOR HIM! Anthony has been the primary "bread winner" for our family, and now he can’t even file for FMLA, Disability, or any other benefits, as he had just started a new job and has not met the proper amount of time employed, to qualify for any of those benefits. Also, this type of cancer is terribly painful! The medication needed to help with that pain doesn’t allow for him to work efficiently, and so he has forgo his meds thus resulting to working with severe pain. My incredible Mom is working two jobs to try and compensate for the days my Dad is sick in bed, and that too, has come at a cost to her health as she suffers with Rheumatoid Arthritis, as well as fibromyalgia. She never complains, and is doing all she is capable of to make ends meet! My brother Nico is working full time and helping out, and even though I am not living in Utah at this time, I am doing all I can from my end.
Anthony will be going in on December 13th for surgery to remove as many growths in the bladder as possible, and put the chemo directly in to the bladder wall. It will be a long road, and multiple surgeries and chemotherapies. Creating a Go Fund Me has been a decision not taken lightly! It is a rather humbling experience to realize that we can’t do this on our own, and to reach out to our “Army” of friends, and communities, for financial help. Especially, after being warned by several medical professionals that this will be extremely financially draining, and continue to be for quite some time. My Mom already showed me a bill for $28,222.61, and that was just for his 4 day hospital stay that resulted in finding the cancer diagnosis!
If all who read this could first and foremost send a prayer of healing on my Dad’s behalf, that is so so needed! Lastly, if you or anyone in your circle or communities can donate ANY amount of money, it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! This is going to be a tremendous journey, with my parents’ high insurance deductible resetting in about a month, just adding insult to injury! Thank you all in advance, for anything you can do!
