Building ABLE Radio Lab

Tax deductible

Family and Friends:
I'm excited to share a project I'm working on! I’m writing a book . . .well, not exactly a book, I am writing . . . documenting a program I've been passionate about for the past 10 years.
My life’s working journey began at CJVR, a small-town radio station in Melfort, Saskatchewan, Canada. After exploring various careers for 40 years, I found myself back in radio, this time working with the special needs community. Please read on, all of this will come together in a moment.
Kidstar Radio, the brainchild of Perry Damone (son of the legendary singer Vic Damone), aimed to empower the individual by placing radio stations in middle schools and underserved communities. Perry, a 35-year veteran of Clear Channel broadcasting, dedicated himself to giving back and positively impacted countless lives.
The program's impact is undeniable: participants gain confidence and clarity in expressing themselves, become tech-savvy, and discover their unique voices. They also feel a stronger sense of belonging and connection to their peers and community.
After Perry's passing in 2014, I inherited the program and continued developing it specifically for the special needs community. We've witnessed the same transformative results in hundreds of individuals over the past decade.
While I mentioned writing a book, it's more about documenting our process. Our goal is to create a blueprint for future generations to bring confidence and self-expression to program participants.
We are looking for at least 3 students from the special needs community to participate. By documenting their journeys, we hope to provide a valuable resource for the future.
To help with this documentation, I've launched a GoFundMe campaign. A significant portion of the funds will go towards providing stipends to the participating students.

Thanks for reading!

And hey, while you're there, check out the station! We are currently playing smooth jazz, perfect background music for your workday.
As they always say on YouTube: Like, subscribe, and share! Your support would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
