Building a Well for a village in Zimbabwe
Donation protected
Great news! We have the opportunity to make a massive difference in the lives of 200+ people in Ngezi, Zimbabwe. I'm raising money for my friend Douglas to help dig a well in his village. It is a rural community that depends on livestock and crops. Zimbabwe used to be the bread basket of Africa, but with constant droughts and climate change, access to fresh water has become scarce.
These photos are from their current crops that will significantly benefit from having consistent water.
The community and livestock depend on this school borehole; the school is the blue building in the background.
I'll transfer money through LifeNets, which has people in the town to ensure the project's integrity and transparency.
More good news, I am being backed by an anonymous company to double everyone's donation up to $2,800! The quote we received is for $5,600, meaning raising $5,900 will give the project a bit of a safety net in case they need to dig further for water. It is best to drill wells in August or September before the rainy season hits.
A few words from Douglas, " I wish the fundraising to be a success. Our lives will be transformed by the borehole. A big thanks to everyone who will be involved in the funding. My God help you. "
Thank you to everyone who can donate! I believe this is a very achievable goal and is an easy way to make a big difference for a community who needs it :)
