Building a Well, Building His Jannah–In Memory of Sher Agha

Donation protected
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of my beloved uncle Sher Agha’s passing in this holy month of Ramadan. May Allah (SWT) grant him Jannatul Firdaus, forgive his sins, and make his grave a place of peace and light. Ameen.

My uncle was a man of honor, integrity, and respect. He had wished to return to Afghanistan before leaving this world, but Allah had other plans for him. Before his passing (may Allah bless him), he made it clear that he did not want a large funeral or extravagant spending. Instead, he asked that anyone who wished to honor him should make dua for him and, if they wanted to spend money, to send it to Afghanistan to help the poor.

In fulfillment of his final wishes, I will be traveling to Afghanistan in two weeks on his behalf. My goal is to establish a Sadaqah Jariyah project that will continue to bring him rewards even after his passing. I want to build a large water well in his honor so that every person who drinks from it will bring him blessings for eternity.

Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity) is one of the few good deeds that continue to benefit a person even after they have left this world. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

“When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them.” (Sahih Muslim 1631)

Providing clean water is one of the most rewarding forms of ongoing charity. The Prophet (ﷺ) was asked, “Which charity is best?” He replied:

“Providing water.” (Ahmad, Abu Dawood, Nasa’i, Ibn Majah)

Imagine the reward every time someone drinks, makes wudu, or cooks with this water! With your support, my uncle will continue to receive blessings for every drop.

The bigger and deeper the well, the longer it lasts and the more people it can serve. Shallow, cheap wells dry up quickly. I want to build a well that will last for years, providing for entire villages in need.

Your donations will go directly toward this effort. Every penny counts, and no amount is too small. Even sharing this campaign is a form of sadaqah.

May Allah reward you abundantly, multiply your good deeds, and grant you and your loved ones Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen.

Jazakum Allahu Khayran,

-Naziya
