The Santo Daime was brought to the city of Salvador in 1999 by Edward MacRae, recognized anthropologist in the academic world and an advocate of the legalization of the use of ayahuascs for religious purposes.
Throughout these 19 years we formed a small brother/sisterhood and we legally established the Spiritualist Center Brilho das Águas. Today, we have about 35 in uniform, the vast majority are students or recent graduates.
Currently we represent an independent center which has the doctrine of the Daime as its spiritual orientation, conceived by the Master Raimundo Irineu Serra.
It has been about eight years since we settled in the district of Amado Bahia in Mata de São João a metropolitan region of Salvador, and here we built our temple of study and feitio house.
In this house, Brilho das Aguas, we learn about charity and love towards our neighbor and we seek to put into practice the lessons that the holy doctrine brings us with much effort and dedication.
We receive in our house many brothers and sisters that suffer from spiritual ailments and who find comfort and healing in the light of this mission.
At this time, we are facing serious security problems, aggravated by the economic crisis of our country and the increase of social inequality.
For many years, we maintained direct contact with the community, in which we are physically installed, offering social events, particularly projects aimed at the culture and recreation of the children of Amado Bahia.
However, this contact has become a threat to the continuity of our works, due to the individuals who live in this region and survive on the margins of the law; find here, the place to shelter and hide from the consequences of unlawful acts.
Our land, has about 10,000 square meters of Atlantic Forest and native species, here we also cultivate medicinal plants, especially Chacruna and Jagube.
On behalf of our fellowship, we ask that you help us in this campaign towards building a barrier that will safely shelter us and give us the conditions to allow the continuity of our spiritual works and social efforts
We appreciate any and all help and wish life, health, happiness and always open paths to everyone.
Viva the Liberty of the Holy Daime!
Viva Brilho das Aguas!
And Viva all the churches!
A kiss in the heart of every one!
