Help Us Build a Sensory Gym for Children with Autism in Queens

My name is Sharlie, and I’m the founder of STEM Haven Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to improving the lives of children with autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions. We are raising funds to open a sensory gym and enrichment center where children can feel safe, supported, and free to grow in their own unique ways.

The Problem We’re Solving

Families of children in under served communities with autism often struggle to find spaces that are inclusive, therapeutic, and specifically designed for their children’s sensory needs. Traditional gyms and programs can be overwhelming or inaccessible, leaving families without vital resources for their children’s development.

Our Vision

STEM Haven Foundation will create a dedicated space that offers sensory-rich play environments, early exposure to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), and a strong sense of community for both children and caregivers. Our programs will focus on physical coordination, emotional regulation, cognitive engagement, and peer interaction — all designed with neurodiversity in mind.

How Funds Will Be Used

We are raising $100,000 to cover the essential startup costs of launching this much-needed facility, including:

Securing and outfitting a building in Queens

Purchasing specialized sensory and STEM equipment

Hiring trained staff and certified therapists

Offering subsidized memberships for low-income families

Launching outreach and caregiver support programs
