Ontario’s natural landscape is rich and diverse, home to countless wildlife species that play a crucial role in our ecosystem.

For 28 years, HavaHeart Wildlife Rescue Services, has been deeply committed to the emergent rescue, stabilization and transitional care of these animals from within our local communities. In times of illness, injury and orphaning, we provide hope for the future of these animals. Ensuring they are met with the most appropriate medical care and external rehabilitative support they require to facilitate their journey (in the most natural possible way) back into the wild from which they came.

The need for wildlife rehabilitation has grown exponentially over the past several years, and even more so over the past few months. We have sadly lost over 75% of licensed wildlife rehabilitators in Ontario in just over 20 years…a staggering drop from 200 centres to a mere 46 remaining throughout the province. This is now being considered an extreme wildlife crisis, as this shortage has professional wildlife rehabilitation bordering on the brink of extinction.

Our Campaign Mission:

As the desperate need for wildlife rehabilitation grows, so must our efforts and the hearts of our supporting communities. Having recently just launched our transportation division, we are delving further and taking a courageous step forward with the intention to provide ongoing care, shelter, and a second chance at life for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife. As we bravely plan to branch out our efforts, we face the pressing need to construct (new) Pre-Release Enclosures & Enrichment Activities.

Being a not-for-profit organization, these structures are quite costly, but they are vital for the animals’ transition back to the wild, offering them a safe environment to regain their strength and foster their natural instincts.
