Building a future for Kaylub

Hi. My name is Heidi Martin. My only son, Nick Fleck, died suddenly on July 17, 2021, leaving behind his only child, his son, Kaylub Fleck. Kaylub is a very special 12 year old who loves to draw, dream, play xbox and is absolutely heartbroken and confused by the loss of his Dad. Nick loved being a father to Kaylub from the absolute minute Kaylub was born. Nick was there when Kaylub needed anything from changing diapers to feeding, cuddling to a good talking to. Nick loved playing with Kaylub, dreaming big dreams, looking at the world together from "outside the box", teaching him about being a kind, considerate and loving person, just like Nick has always been. He had moved with Kaylub from San Diego to the Seattle area to live with him and taught him about life with 4 full seasons... including rain and snow. Kaylub came back in March 2020 to live in San Diego with his Mom. He spoke with his Dad almost nightly and Nick monitored Kaylub's activities through his phone like the guardian angel he now has become. Unfortunately, COVID hit Nick hard and he had nothing left for Kaylub when he died.

We are rallying around Kaylub to create an education/future fund for him to help support him in finding his way in the world when he is ready to fly. Nick's sister Suzy Hurtzig and myself will watch over the funds along with other family and friends to make sure it is used correctly for Kaylub.

Although the funds cannot possibly cover the price of loss and grief over his father, the goal of this is to extend financial and ongoing support for Kaylub's future. We appreciate any donations you would like to share with Kaylub. Thank you so very much.
