Building a church in the forgotten community

In the rural village of Alcalde Diaz situated in Panama, very close to the rainforest. Lives a small population of people who have unfortunately had very little to no help from the government. They live under the poverty line and with the lack of support, many had drifted into depression, drug and alcohol addiction.
Pastor Julian Rudas Castaneda joined the community in August 2017 along with his wife, Leidy and 3 year old son Mattias. They opened the first ever Pentecostal church within the area and put themselves forward to be able to help those within the community. The church started off being a small number of 2 and has since grown to be 90 people big and counting.
The space is vulnerable to the elements as it lacked walls, a roof and even electricity. Being so close to the rainforest, there have been many times where they have been rained on during meetings. There has been a small-scale fundraise between family & friends and this has given pastor Julian local volunteers the opportunity to strengthen walls, build a roof and ensure the community space is more weather resistant. However, there is still a lot to do. The money raised from this Go Fund Me page will be used to expand on this project and give those within the village a place of worship, togetherness and finally, a sense of community.
We are aware that you donating isn’t obligatory, however any donation (no matter how big or small) would be of great help to the community and show them that someone does care. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page to those within your network would be of great help to the cause.
