Help Me Build Star-Veiled Bookstore

Hi, my name is Denise, and I’m the founder of Star-Veiled Bookstore, a new West London based mobile bookstore. I am dedicated to uplifting indie authors & authors of colour, whilst helping readers discover hidden gems they might never find otherwise.

As an indie author myself, I know firsthand how difficult it can be to get books seen, stocked, and supported. We are extremely marginalised and hidden on social media. Finding an indie author online is like finding a needle in a haystack.

That’s why I created Star-Veiled, not just as a bookstore, but as a UK wide community that puts indie authors at the centre and connects them with readers who are looking for something different.

Over the past few months, I’ve already invested £2,000 of my own money into building this business; from stock and setup to creating content and growing a community around it.

Now, I’m ready to take the next step.

I have pop up shops planned across the UK, travelling around with my car, table and gazebo. However my ultimate goal is to have a mobile bookshop van.

Donations will be used to:

- Buy a suitable van

-decorate the van and add shelves.

-Buy more stock from authors and indie book wholesalers

-Sidelines from other small UK businesses

This van will allow me to grow Star-Veiled into more than just an online store. It will become a unique experience for readers and authors, allowing me to host/attend many events, travel to areas around the UK and take the books to the readers.

Every contribution, no matter how small, brings this vision closer to reality. And even if you’re not able to donate, sharing this means everything.

Every single person who supports Star-Veiled Bookstore will become part of its story.
