We need your help to bring extra-curricular programs to our students. A small contribution from you will change the life of not just one child, but their families. Your contribution is the small pebble dropped into a puddle that continues to cause ripples.
We're bringing change to education for our small, rural community. In addition to the A,B,C's and 1,2,3's, we're offering instruction in character development, post-secondary education and independent living skills. Science and history are important things to know, but it's financial literacy and how to keep a job that will make a long-term difference in the lives of our young people.
These programs are making a huge difference in the lives of kids that would otherwise settle for a job rather than aspire to gain the training and education needed to find a career path. Amber was an uninterested student going through the motions until she mentioned that she liked astrology. That prompted a field trip to Kitt Peak Observatory. Amber is currently completing her masters degree in Astro Physics at Embry-Riddle in Prescott, AZ.
Jazmin will be the first in her family to attend a post-secondary education! She's attending West-MEC's Dental Assistant program. As a role model for her younger brother and sister, Jazmin is working towards her high school diploma while she's working towards her certification. An innocent conversation in passing, got the process moving to change this family.
Dave Ramsey's Foundations program is being taught to all of our high school students. We've got 23% of our high school students in some type of post-secondary training. Our junior high school students are learning about the type of person they want to become - integrity, responsibility and respect are a few of the things they're learning.
