Help Us Build the Wang Wang Garden of Compassion in Nepal
Alina’s Animals Preservation Nepal is a registered animal-welfare organization based in eastern Nepal. We rescue and care for injured, elderly and disabled animals, and our shelter is especially dedicated to dogs living with disabilities.
A few days ago, we asked whether people would support creating a statue and memorial garden for Wang Wang and her puppies. So many people responded with love and encouragement. After seeing that support, we decided to move forward with the Wang Wang Garden of Compassion.
In China, Wang Wang was a mother caring for her babies. What she and her puppies went through was so painful that many people could not even watch the full video. Her story touched people across countries, cultures and languages, and animal lovers around the world raised their voices for justice.
As time passes, fewer people may continue talking about what happened. We do not want Wang Wang’s story to disappear after only a few weeks on social media.
Just as Hachikō’s story continues to live through his statue in Japan, we believe Wang Wang’s story should live too.
Nepal is a meaningful place for this memorial. Every year during Kukur Tihar, dogs are honoured with flower garlands, tika and food. We hope people from Nepal and around the world will visit the garden, offer flowers, spend time remembering Wang Wang and meet the disabled dogs living at our shelter.
Through this memorial, Wang Wang’s memory will continue to live, and more people will also learn about our disabled shelter dogs and their journeys. Because of Wang Wang, dogs who are still living and waiting to be seen may receive more love, care and support.
This project is not being created for personal attention. It is being created so Wang Wang and her babies are never forgotten.

The image shared is only a concept design. The final layout may change according to site measurements, material available, safety and construction requirements. These same components and possible changes are described in our project proposal.

The construction budget is estimated at NPR 10,00,000, currently equal to approximately USD $6,488.
The fundraiser is set at USD $6,700 so that a small amount is available for GoFundMe transaction fees, possible bank or international transfer charges, currency conversion and exchange-rate changes.
These costs are included within the $6,700 goal and will not be requested separately.
All figures are estimates and may change slightly after final measurements, material selection and confirmed quotations. Any significant change will be shared openly before the money is spent.

Our shelter currently operates on rented land. The statue, benches, recognition board, lights and other major memorial features will therefore be designed to be movable wherever practical. If the shelter relocates, we intend to move the memorial with us.
Wang Wang’s pain should not remain only a heartbreaking memory. It should inspire compassion, unity and stronger protection for animals.
People from many countries stood together for her. Every time an animal faces such cruelty, we should come together again, regardless of country, language or background.
Unity is our strength. Wang Wang’s story should continue to live. Wang Wang should become a revolution for compassion.
