The last couple of days it has been raining non-stop in Slovenia and today (Friday 4th August 2023) all the water caused floats in the towns, fields, campsites, etc.

Camping Menina is located in Varpolje and has literally been washed away. Floating tents, caravans and cars. Luckily all the guests are save and evacuated to a school nearby, but they are unreachable because of damaged roads. Besides that, there’s probably not much left of the camp site.

Camping Menina’s owners Jure and Katja and their team have been so unbelievably dedicated to create a unique holiday experience for every single guest for years. And now all their work has been washed away within a day.

We (Nelleke and Marieke), two students from the Netherlands, feel the need to support them and reading from social media a lot more (previous) guests too. That’s why we started this crowd funding: to help Jure, Katja and their team to build up Camping Menina again.
