BUILD THEM BACK: Hanna Katzir needs our support
Tax deductible
On October 7th, 2023, an unspeakable terror attack shook the core of Israel and good people worldwide, leading to Hanna (77) being held hostage for 48 harrowing days. During this time, she faced horrors that are beyond words. The tragedy decimated her home, took away beloved members of her close-knit family and community through murder or kidnapping, with many still in captivity.
Finally freed on November 24th, 2023, Hanna now faces the long, challenging journey of healing from the deep-seated trauma.
Every dollar raised will provide a lifeline of mental and physical support—covering housing, nourishment, clothing, and other essential needs—in the days, months, and years to come as they strive to regain a semblance of normalcy.
About Hanna
Hanna, one of the esteemed founders of Kibbutz Nir Oz, epitomizes selflessness, readily parting with her earthly possessions to assist those in need. Born to a family of Holocaust survivors, her nurturing essence found a purpose in caring for the children of the Kibbutz for many years.
Her son, Elad, channels his altruism into social activism, tirelessly advocating for the release of Israeli hostages. However, fate cast a dark shadow on October 7th when he too was abducted. Elad remains captive.
Hanna's beloved spouse of 55 years, and Elad's father, Rami, was a unique soul at 79. Known possibly as the only tractor mechanic in Israel who mended engines to the tune of classical music, he was a gentle spirit, forever in pursuit of peace. Tragically, his life was brutally cut short on that ominous day, leaving a void in the fabric of peace he so ardently wove.
Now, more than ever, Hanna needs our unwavering support. Every donation, regardless of its size, is a step towards showing Hanna that she is not alone, that we empathise with her pain, and stand firm with them in their fight to rebuild their lives. Let's embrace them with a community of support that resonates with love, hope, and resilience.
All contributions are being managed by the reputable AID Coalition (EIN 93-1616002). Rest assured, every penny will reach the freed hostages (or their legal guardians if minors) or be applied for their benefit (no administrative fees are being retained by AID-Coalition), ensuring that the families receive the support they desperately need.
Let’s reassure them that they are not alone, and that we stand with them, not just through the harrowing time, but through their recovery ordeal as well. Plus, your kind gesture is tax deductible.
