BUILD THEM BACK: Abigail Idan needs our support
Tax deductible
On October 7th, 2023, an unspeakable terror attack shook the core of Israel and good people worldwide, leading to Abigail (3) being held hostage for 50 harrowing days. During this time, she faced horrors that are beyond words. Her mother and father were killed on that Saturday in front of her eyes. The tragedy decimated her home, took away beloved members of their close-knit family and community through murder or kidnapping, with many still in captivity.
Finally freed on November 25th, 2023, Abigail now faces the long, challenging journey of healing from the deep-seated trauma that will, unfortunately, be a part of their lives forever.
About Abigail
Abigail is an American citizen. Her father, Roeyi, who is a news photographer, left home that morning to capture images of the attack. During his absence, her mother Smadar was tragically killed. Upon returning home, Roeyi lifted Abigail in his arms, but was shot and killed while holding her. Abigail’s siblings, Amailia (6) and Michael (9), showcased remarkable resourcefulness by hiding in a closet for an entire day, which spared them from captivity or worse.
This fund is a beacon of hope dedicated to supporting these brave souls in their quest for healing and rebuilding their shattered lives. Every dollar raised will provide a lifeline of mental and physical support — covering housing, nourishment, clothing, and other essential needs — in the days, months, and years to come as she strives to regain a semblance of normalcy.
All contributions are being managed by the reputable AID Coalition (EIN 93-1616002). Rest assured, every penny will reach the freed hostages (or their legal guardians if minors) or be applied for their benefit (no administrative fees are being retained by AID-Coalition), ensuring that the families receive the support they desperately need.
Let’s reassure them that they are not alone, and that we stand with them, not just through the harrowing time, but through their recovery ordeal as well. Plus, your kind gesture is tax deductible.
