Build the Tukga-Hut!

Haines Huts, is a non-profit based in Haines Alaska. We have secured a land lease

from Alaska Department of Natural Resources to build a public use cabin in the

Takshanuk Mountains. The Tukga-Hut will be approximately 8 miles North

of downtown Haines and 3 miles from the 7-mile saddle trailhead.

We are in the process of construction, the foundation has been installed and the hut is framed and dried-in in town. The goal is to fly the cabin in modular/planer loads up to the site before this winter (23'/24')

This will be the first public use cabin in Haines’ backcountry! We hope that you will

world’s most epic wilderness landscapes, perched above our authentic rural Alaskan

community!

Haines Alaska is nestled between the Chilkat and Chilkoot rivers- a world class

destination and Adventure Capital of Alaska! The Tukga-Hut lease is located on the

Southern flanks of Mt Tukgahgo, at 3990′ in the Takshanuk Range. The Takshanuk

Mountains form the divide between the Chilkat and Chilkoot Rivers.
