Build the Paul Black Memorial Plaza in Bouton, IA

Want to join us to enhance Central Iowa trails and honor a legendary local cyclist? We are raising money to place a bench, picnic table, bike rack, tool stand, plaque, and trash receptacle at a new trailhead to be built in 2023 in Bouton, Iowa along a new section of the High Trestle Trail. The City of Bouton is contributing paved land on which the donated objects will be placed and the area will be permanently designated as the Paul Black Memorial Plaza.

Your donation will honor Paul Black, an accomplished Iowa endurance cyclist who completed several extraordinary rides such as Race Across America (RAAM), Paris Brest Paris (PBP) and the Iditarod ride just to name a few. Never wanting recognition, he may reluctantly talk about his accomplishments when asked. His joy was riding the connected trails with friends from his home in Des Moines.
