The Light Portal is everyone's favourite giant kaleidoscope and this year we want to bring massive upgrades and a SECOND brand new Light Portal experience to Earth Frequency Festival and beyond.
Creating the Light Portal has been a project of love for over 10 years for Patrick O'Neill aka Tricktronix. Each year, countless amounts of personal time, energy and money is invested into creating and upgrading this incredible multi-media interactive art installation, but this year we need your help! One of our main projectors has died and the new portal will use our 2 remaining projectors. We also have a lot of costs to build the new portals and upgrade them. On top of that Patrick recently lost his job, which adds a lot of extra pressure to get this project over the line.

- Two Portals! — including a brand new walk-through experience so you literally step into the light.
- 4K-capable graphics engine — crisper geometry, new effects, new visuals.
- New interaction modes — a bigger touchscreen control
- Upgraded hardware enclosures & frames — more robust, festival-proof build.
- Volumetric ambience — smoke/fog to sculpt light in the air for that otherworldly “portal” feel.
