Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Rahim
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,
My name is Hafsa Hassan, a UK Muslim who has ties with the wonderful Muslim community of Madina Baye, Senegal. Home of the world renowned Shaikh, Shaikh Al Islam Al Hajj Ibrahim Niass, one of the most important Muslims figures of the 20th century.
I was recently asked by my Shaikh, Habib Sall of Madina Baye, to help raise funds for the Mosque of Thicath Boynguel village, which is in great need of assistance. Our brothers and sisters there have been struggling for a while to complete the mosque and need around £8500.
A mosque is more than just a place of worship: it’s an educational center, a place for community gatherings and engagements, a place for weddings, charitable endeavors and so on. By helping establish this mosque for this small community of Muslims, you’re investing in their spiritual and general wellbeing, a worthy cause to be a part of.
Jabir bin Abdullahra narrates that the Holy Prophet PBUH said:
“Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, like a sparrow’s nest for Allah or even smaller, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.”
(Sunan Ibn Majah, Kitab al-Masajid wal Jamaah, Hadith 738)
“Only those shall maintain Allah’s mosques who believe in Allah and the Last Day and maintain the prayer and give the zakat and fear no one except Allah”
(Sūrat al-Tawbah, No 9, Āyat 18)
