Build Bon's Family a New Home
Donation protected
When Bon moved to the US 10 years ago, one of the first things we did was send money to put a metal roof and cement plaster on his Mom's home. Over the years, however, the house (which is around 300-ish square feet, was built from un-fired, homemade bricks, and un-milled pieces of stick-wood) has fallen apart. In the meantime, Bon's older sister passed away and her kids went to live with Bon's mom as well. Now the home that once housed his mom, her husband, and a few kids now houses about 10 people. Last rainy season, the roof leaked badly and the external out-house toilet fell down.

The area where they live was once a village but has morphed in to a "high density -informal housing area" - i.e. a slum. Crime is rising and it is increasingly hard for the kids to get a good education. In March 2022, We were able to buy a piece of land in a new area outside the city of Lilongwe (a few miles from where they currently live). This new area will have planned out streets and electricity. It doesn't currently have city water. Our goal is to build a liveable home for his family with enough space for all the kids, a well, a septic system, a fence, and electricity.
Thank you for any help. Whatever we earn with this campaign will help make the home better.
