Hi my name is Rena Kydd- Williams, I am a UK born resident from Grenadian Parentage (Father from mainland Grenada and Mother from the Sister Isle of Petite Martinique).
Grenada, a tri island state was hit by a devastating Hurricane named Beryl on the 2nd July 2024, resulting in near complete devastation of Petite Martinique as it was hit by the Eye of the Hurricane. Thankfully there was no loss of life. However many, if not most of the islanders have been displaced due to lost roofs / destroyed homes.
As part of the diaspora I have been doing my bit to support my extended family and now that the immediate emergency is over, I am stepping up my fundraising campaign to help with the build back of the island.
My campaign is to raise £8000, to aid 10 families with the costs of repairing / rebuilding their homes and sending a barrel of donated children's educational books to the local school. Each family will receive £700 ($1000 Eastern Caribbean Dollars).
In order to raise these funds I will be doing a 10 mile aqua jog on the 29th April 2025 at The Pavillion Mytimeactive in Bromley https://www.mytimeactive.co.uk/locations/pavilion
Mytimeactive have also agreed to offer a concession swim voucher for every donation made!
