Hello friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,
My name is Angel, and I’m reaching out to ask for your support as I work toward a life-changing goal: to raise $40,000 to build a small, accessible home on land I recently bought.
My Story:
For the last 7 years, I’ve been battling intractable pain caused by multiple chronic illnesses, including Spina Bifida Occulta and Bertolotti’s Syndrome, a rare spinal condition that affects my mobility and causes severe, nonstop pain.
Due to the different conditions and the aftermath of getting run over by a truck when I was younger, I am in need of a total hip replacement, but I've been denied surgery because I’m "too young," and there's not enough research on how Bertolotti’s Syndrome affects hip replacement outcomes.
While I seek a second opinion and further specialist care, I’m doing my best to manage pain and preserve my independence day by day. But right now, my living conditions make that nearly impossible. So for me, this isn't just a construction project, this is an investment in my goals and my health.
Why I Need Help:
I already own the land, but I need help funding the materials and construction of a small, one-story home that’s:
Fully accessible with no stairs or barriers
Safe and accommodating for someone managing chronic pain and limited mobility
A quiet space where I can rest, recover, and write
Writing has always been my outlet. It's how I process pain, find hope, and connect with others. I dream of turning this home into a space where I can continue writing books and stories that heal, while also healing myself.
This home would allow me to:
Regain independence and live with dignity
Reduce physical stress that worsens my pain
Create and work toward a meaningful future despite medical setbacks
How You Can Help
I'm asking for $40,000 to cover:
Basic construction materials
Labor costs
Plumbing, electrical, and heating
Accessibility features (ramp, wide doors, open layout)
Ans a small greenhouse to grow my own food.
If you’re able to donate, any amount makes a real difference. And if you can't give right now, sharing this campaign is a wonderful way to support this journey.
Thank you for reading and thank you for helping me take a step toward healing and maintaining my independence.
With gratitude,
Angel
