Assalaamu Alaykum,
I hope this fundraiser finds you well.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un
(إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ)
On the morning of Friday 5th August 2022, we were given the devastating news that Fahad Asghar Cheema had passed away.
A loving father, a caring son and beloved uncle. He was loved by his friends and colleagues.
In memory of him we have set up this page to raise money as a Sadaqah Jariyah. We would like to raise £1,600 so we can build two water wells in Fahad’s name.
Fahad was an active and outgoing person, he would always put himself out there and loved a good challenge. He completed his mechanical engineering degree in Pakistan then completed his Masters, at the University of Lancaster. Everyone in the family loved his company. He always kept a good relationship with his whole family, and everyone would look up to him, especially his nephews. He also had a 4 year old daughter, he loved his daughter to bits.
On the 20th March 2021 our lives turned upside down when we found out that my dearest uncle Fahad had been diagnosed with a brain cancer, Glioblastoma. We were all destroyed by this heartbreaking news and all wished we could be with him in Canada. Not once did he ever question why this is happening to him. He believed in Allah swt and had faith that he would beat the cancer. This journey was a rollercoaster of emotions, from hearing that the treatment is working to hearing that the tumor had grown back.
Fahad made the decision to move to the UK where his sisters lived, he was very close with all his siblings. He was much happier being closer to his family, as with this horrible type of cancer you need supportive family and friends around you who can brighten your days and boost your will power to fight off this destructive disease.
After a month moving to the UK, Fahad had a scan which showed his regrown tumor. Despite the deterioration of his mobility, Fahad always tried to pray five times a day. He always wanted to go to the mosque for prayers especially Jummah. Recently he was planning to do umrah with his parents and other family members. He was always very positive and inspiring. He would manage to smile and grab the moments of joy, during the toughest times.
The days before passing, Fahad improved dramatically. He was a lot more active, his energy levels were high and he had a good laugh with his family. One morning he woke up with a headache followed by vomiting. He was taken to hospital where he was given medication to relieve the pain. The doctors tried their very best. The very next morning he peacefully passed away on the 5th of August 2022.
We hope a cure can be found. Families can’t keep suffering like this.
Please donate generously for the sake of Allah, even if it’s the smallest amount. If you can’t, please do share the link and make sincere du'a for my uncle❤️
Feel free to share any personal stories or messages you may have about him, we would love to hear them!
If anyone from Pakistan would like to donate, please send a Whatsapp message to: +44 7843122043 .
