Build a STEM lab for a rural Sri Lankan school
Donation protected
Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to read this page. We are a group of former students coming together to organise this initiative in memory of our beloved chemistry tutor, who means so much to all of us.
She was more than just a teacher, she was a mentor, a guide and a constant source of encouragement. She was a rare soul.
"You can do this putha!" I can still hear her voice, full of conviction and warmth, lifting us when we were doubtful of our own abilities. Those words still echo in our hearts today, reminding us of how deeply she cared and how much she truly believed in our potential.
In her name, we are raising funds for the Tarana Foundation to support their current project: "Build a STEM Lab for a Rural Sri Lankan School."
Charity Information:
Many schools in rural Sri Lanka lack access to essential resources for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs due to insufficient financial support. This hinders talented students' ability to pursue their dreams or even consider STEM careers. Through this project, we aim to be a contributing part in bridging this significant gap by providing students of all ages with the opportunity to explore STEM fields and empower their learning.
You can find further information here: https://www.taranafoundation.org/project/build-a-stem-lab-for-a-rural-sri-lankan-school/
As a passionate chemistry tutor, she would have loved to see young students gain access to quality science education. Through this initiative, we hope to pass on the gift of learning to those who need it the most.
Your donation, no matter how big or small, will help us continue her legacy and give future generations the opportunity to learn as well as empower them to reach their goals!
We're also organising a hike up to Mount Snowdon on April 12th 2025 as part of our fundraiser for the Tarana Foundation. This is our way of commemorating and replicating our teacher's love for being in nature. If you'd like to join us, get in touch and we'll happily add you to the group!
Thank you for supporting this cause and for helping us honour an extraordinary teacher ❤️
