Build a Rideable Giant Sidewalk Snail for the Community
Donation protected
My name is George Lee and I made a giant paper mache snail for neighbors to ride but I need funds to skin it in 3" of structural type s mortar. There were tomato cages, then they looked like a snail, then I thought of the racing snail from the neverending story and all the people and kids who walk by my house near San Pablo Park, and I thought... I'm going to make a fun snail people can ride and put it in my front yard. Then paper mache happened, then I built an area in my front yard.
I'm a professional sculptor (see black concrete piece photo or georgeleestudio.com), love concrete and public interaction. I built this platform in my yard to hold this snail play area (see moved area with wood retaining wall) but as I said want the community here to have the chance to fund it and give. So please give if you'd like and able. I'll directly use the money to buy about 20 80lb bags of type s mortar mix and a few associated supplies. Then I'll build with volunteers and me.
