Hi my name is Kate Dorsett,

I am raising funds for my dear friend Claire Knight who has been tragically diagnosed with MND

( Motor Neurone Disease) with dementia, at the young age of 47.

I want to raise £10,000 to build a sensory garden for Claire. She spent time in Wales with her newly wed husband Paul Knight. They had a beautiful Eco home and were practically off grid. They were living the dream!

claire and Paul share a love of the outdoors, woodlands, Forests and coast.

when I asked Claire to write a list ( she has sadly lost her voice) of things she would like to do with Paul, she wrote, sea! Coffee! Giggles! Sea! Sea! Sea!

my goal is to create a garden full of fragrant botanicals, water, trees, a hammock, sand, beach hut ( painted shed) water, fairy lights, chamomile lawn, fire pit to cook on, a swing etc etc..

They have recently moved back to Somerset to be near Claire’s family and friends. They have a small 2 bed bungalow and a small garden so we will need to be creative… George Clarkson stylie!

I have given up my job as a rehabilitation well-being worker for Mind in Somerset

( brilliant charity) to care for Claire, 3 days a week, whilst Paul works to give her the best life she can possibly have.

Claire and I have enjoyed day centres at Mind in Yeovil to do Karaoke with my lovely ex colleague (and friend) David, Reiki and sound healing from Reiki Rodger, and art projects with the lovely Katy ( a volunteer), a trainee counsellor and healing therapist. )
