My name is Zafina, and I am raising funds to help build a school in Dar e Turkman, a small village in Afghanistan where children have little access to education.

This cause is deeply personal to me. I am an Afghan woman who migrated from Afghanistan when I was 13 years old. Today, I am incredibly fortunate to be studying a Master’s degree, pursuing opportunities that were made possible through education. When I think about the reality that many girls in Afghanistan are unable to access even a basic primary school education, it breaks my heart.

Since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, girls have faced significant barriers to education. While some families turn to private schools, many simply cannot afford the fees. In villages like this one, the situation is even more challenging because the community is heavily under-resourced, and there are very few educational facilities available in the first place. As a result, many children, especially girls, are growing up without the opportunity to learn, develop their skills, and build a brighter future.

My family will be travelling to Afghanistan and personally overseeing this project from the ground. This means we will be directly involved in ensuring that donations are used responsibly and transparently to benefit the children and families who need it most.

The funds raised will go towards constructing classrooms, purchasing furniture and educational resources, and creating a safe learning environment where Afghan children can access the education they deserve. Our goal is to provide a place where children can learn, grow, and dream of a future beyond the limitations they currently face.

Education has the power to change lives. I know this because it changed mine. By supporting this project, you are helping give Afghan children the same opportunity to learn, succeed, and create a better future for themselves and their communities.
