Friends, Family & Pet-Lovers. I work with someone who has experienced a great deal of personal trauma, starting with a tragic car accident at age 17, where she lost her best friend and boyfriend. As life brings joy and heartache, my friend is now in middle age, lives alone, in Dayton and works with at-risk youth in our wonderful, yet quite challenging, drop-out recovery school in Dayton, also. The past 2 years has brought my sweet friend some more health challenges, the death of her beloved puppy and home repairs that have drained her financially. Our jobs are so time consuming and exhausting that it is impossible to work a second job and options for middle aged teachers are limited anyway. About 1-yr ago, for emotional support, she rescued a pit-mix breed, super-loving, companion named Jewels. The extra "security" Jewels brought to a single lady living alone in an urban area was an added bonus. However, it has become abundantly clear, especially with the time change, that Jewels needs a secure yard to play in because she is so full of energy that it is impossible to walk her far enough to wear her out, in the dark!! This is even more difficult with recent health issues my friend has experienced. To that end, I am humbly asking for donations to help assist in building a fence for Jewels' backyard, so she can run and play, but still be able to snuggle with my friend at night, be there when she gets home from work and do all the social emotional things pets just "magically" do. Without the fenced yard, Jewels is going to have to be re-adopted because she is just too much pup for my friend to handle at this stage of life. Heartbreaking for them both!! She told me this with tears in her eyes which is when I knew FOR SURE that WE can make this a reality for my dear friend. The volunteer labor is already committed, we are simply asking for $$$ to cover the cost of materials alone. Please pray and follow your heart on this one and if you choose not to give, please just PRAY because we serve a mighty God and with Him all things are possible. Peace.
