From the streets of Egypt to a second chance, help us give these cats the safe place they desperately need.
In 2018, Zee Shelter, located in Giza, Egypt, was started by one woman alone, Zeina Moparez, with just 30 rescued cats. Those cats were saved from a terrible situation and given a second chance at life. She later found loving families for them in the UK.
Since then, the rescue has continued to grow because the need never stops. The streets of Giza are filled with cats in desperate need of medical help, food, and compassionate care.
Today, Zee Shelter is facing one of its hardest moments.
More cats than ever are being rescued, abandoned, injured, sick, and starving. They are taken in because there is simply nowhere else for them to go. But now, the shelter is overcrowded, and this is putting the cats at serious risk.
We urgently need to build a separate building just for the cats.
Right now, many cats are forced to share tight spaces, making it extremely difficult to keep sick cats separated, prevent the spread of disease, and give them the space they need to rest and recover. A dedicated cat building will allow them to stay healthier and safer, improve hygiene, and provide a calm, stress-free environment where they can finally begin to heal. This building will save lives.
Construction has already started, but we urgently need funds to complete it.
My name is Emilie, and I work closely with this rescue. I help bring some of these cats from Egypt to the United States, picking them up from the airport and helping them find loving homes, with the support of other rescues in the U.S. I have also adopted cats from them myself, and I have seen firsthand how much these animals go through and how much this shelter changes everything for them.
Zee Shelter has no outside funding. Every single dollar depends on donations.
If you can help, even a small amount, you are directly giving these cats a safer, healthier future.
Please be part of building their second chance.
