To our friends and family,
My name is Nicole and I am one of 10 residents on a private road in Richmond, Vermont that receives 0$ in state or federal assistance. On July 10th, we unfortunately received 5.79 inches of rainfall in a very short amount of time causing region-wide flooding. We have weathered through many storms, but this one washed our bridge away and our road is now impassable except for a narrow grass path covered with some plywood through neighboring yards. We are hard-working individuals, most of us living on a modest income. We have yet to receive an exact quote for a bridge, we expect it to run between 25,000-50,000$.
This exact time to the day last year we had historic flooding and we’re still recovering financially. Our poor state has really suffered and living on a private road while paying the same amount of taxes, not seeing a cent of assistance feels ever more defeating during this insurmountable loss.
My goal is raise some money that will go towards material cost. Thank you for donating any amount!
