Build a Forest School and Accessible Garden
Jumping Beans Garratt Park playgroup is an exciting and caring provision for children aged 20 months -5 years. Operating as a 20-place community playgroup, we are privileged to play a role and be a part of such a vast and diverse community.
As a non profit charity we fundraise in order to purchase crucial resources and extracurricular activity
equipment, helping to enhance the playgroups surroundings and children’s learning. Creating a
space where all the children can thrive and develop, in a safe nurturing environment.
Jumping Beans Garratt Park is an inclusive playgroup that supports the local community by offering affordable and some free childcare places to low-income families. Giving all children the opportunity to develop. We welcome children with SEN (special educational needs), adapting our environment to
suit each child’s individual needs. We currently have a little boy who attends the setting who has Spina Bifida and is wheelchair dependant.
At the beginning of 2023 school year, the building was broken into, and all our resources were destroyed. As you can imagine it has been a heart wrenching and difficult time to manage, as we lost a lot of our resources, and our limited funds had to be repurposed for damaged, stolen items and
the garden had to be adapted for tighter security. During such a horrendous time the Earlsfield community pulled together and supported us immensely.
We are now reaching out to the community for support with our garden to create a Forest School and Sensory path. This will help Increase self-belief, confidence, learning capacity, enthusiasm,
communication and problem-solving skills, and emotional well-being. The area will also provide inspiration of awe and wonder and encourage problem-solving. Offering endless opportunities for
their young minds to flourish. Making all areas of the garden usable all year round for all our children
in attendance, as unfortunately our wheelchair user is unable to access the grass area independently. This will also provide an adapted environment for the local community during
events.
With Wandsworth and Merton children's centres closing due to a lack of funds it’s now vital that
children get access to outside space within a nursery environment. We are kindly asking for any donations that we can to build the forest school and sensory path. Any help and support will be
much appreciated.
Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of JUMPING BEANS GARRATT PARK PLAYGROUP and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
