Build a deaf school in Somalia

My name is Samira Duale and I have been in Deaf education here in London for over 5 years and have always been concious of the difficulties of the deaf community here in London, let alone in the hardships that are currently going on in my homeland of Somalia. So I recently launched by charity "The Silent Horn Foundation" which is based in Xamarwayne and is registered with the Somali government and an official charity.
We are tirelessly striving to offer food and education solutions for the Deaf in Somalia.
For thousands of people who live in the Horn of Africa, their world is silent. But we believe that every deaf person deserves the same opportunities to learn and grow their piers have. So we are striving tirelessly to raise awareness about deaf issues in Somalia and educate anyone effected by it.
It is well known that Somalia is going through one of the worst droughts in recent history and in these hard times, it is always the weak and vulnerable who get hurt the most and our work is helping to combat this.
The money raised will help to build and maintain schools and empower local teachers to give long lasting impact to our work. We are raising an initial £5,000 in order to launch out first official centre for Deaf education in Mogadishu. We have well established links with the local community through our work in the past with our partners who have been active in human rights campaigning in the country for a number of years.
Who will be handling the funds at all times?
The money will be sent to Somalia/ Mogadishu. The money will be handled by The Silent Horn Foundationin Somalia who are working with us on a voluntary basis who were working TSHF since 2015.
The Silent Horn Foundation is a registered charity in Somalia. Our foundation is coordinated with the Ifrah Foundation which has been working in Human rights based in both Ireland and Somalia. The Silent Horn Foundation website is under construction.
