Build a Chicken Farm to Power the Future of Farming

Donation protected
Hi! My name is Florence, and I’m writing to you from Iringa, Tanzania, where I proudly serve as the Project Coordinator for the Children’s Farm Project, a beautiful initiative designed to awaken the love of farming among children.

Growing up, farming was treated as punishment. I still remember being sent to weed school gardens or clean animal barns whenever I misbehaved. Back then, I hated farming, and so did many of my classmates. It was seen as a "low-level job," something people were told to do only if they failed at everything else.

But today, I know better. Farming is one of the most important careers in the world. It feeds nations. It builds futures. I just wish someone had told me that as a child. Maybe we’d have hundreds more passionate farmers today, maybe we would have more food in our empty tummies. That’s why I’m committed to helping children see agriculture differently, to see it with pride and excitement.

ABOUT THE CHILDREN’S FARM
Thanks to the generous support of donors from Europe, the USA, and Tanzania, we proudly completed the Children’s Farm in 2024. In just our first year, over 700 children visited the facility, learning how to plant, grow, harvest crops, and care for animals. It’s been incredibly moving to watch young minds light up with curiosity and confidence as they connect with the land.
To make the program more accessible, we now have a school bus transporting children from nearby schools. But while the vision is strong, our biggest challenge is sustainability, how do we keep this dream alive and growing?

That’s where this campaign comes in. By building a chicken farm, we can generate steady income through daily egg sales, helping to fund farm visits for children and keep the program running independently.

And this is just the beginning.
  • More Children’s Farms across Tanzania is the future plan.
  • We believe we can inspire more than 10% of students to choose farming as a career.
  • Producing more young farmers means more youth staying in rural areas, contributing to local food systems and strengthening their communities.

WHY WE’RE BUILDING A CHICKEN FARM
To keep the Children’s Farm running independently, we’ve launched a new initiative: building a chicken farm to raise egg layers and chicks. This farm will provide:
  • A daily source of income through egg sales
  • Hands-on training for children in animal husbandry
  • Practical lessons in agribusiness and entrepreneurship

The construction of our first chicken house (for raising chicks) is already 80% complete, but we need your help to finish it, and then build the next unit for keeping egg layers ready to start laying eggs.

THE CHICKEN HOUSE PROJECT PHASE 01: HOW YOUR DONATION WILL HELP
Your generous support will go directly toward completing construction and launching our income-generating chicken farm, which will help sustain the Children’s Farm for years to come.
Specifically, your donation will help us:
  • Complete the chicken house currently 80% built, making it ready to raise 2,700 day-old chicks
  • Purchase 3,000 day-old chicks, feeds, and essential supplies to kickstart sustainable egg and poultry production

We are fully committed to transparency and impact. You’ll receive regular updates with photos, videos, and stories directly from the farm, because you're not just donating, you're becoming part of this journey to raise a generation of young African farmers.

THE IMPACT: A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE FOR CHILDREN
This is more than just a chicken house. It’s a long-term solution to keep the Children’s Farm alive and thriving. Your support will help us:
  • Teach real-life entrepreneurial skills
  • Provide food, education, and mentorship
  • Break the cycle of poverty through self-sustaining agriculture

Together, we can give children the tools, and the wings to build better futures.
