Build a boxing ring for our community center

Help us put a Ring in it!

Hi! My name is Leo and I am trying to raise funds to give my boxers a ring!

I’m the coach at Damaso2000 Boxing/Kickboxing in Rome Italy. Our club was established after the Covid lockdown in 2021. A stroke of luck - or divine intervention, led me to the St Damaso church that hosts a multi-sport center for the community in its basement.

We have a lot going for us, but we are missing one thing - a Ring! We are not a non-profit, but our membership costs are low and we are a community centre not a business; meaning we can’t generate the funds needed to get a ring without help.

People have questioned if we can be a real boxing club without a ring - its like training for soccer without a ball. Even so, we have achieved some great results so far. However, having a ring will provide greater opportunities to our athletes and elevate them to the next level.

A ring:

- Provides a full authentic boxing experience

- Allows our athletes to train with realism for matches, to learn the limits of the arena they need to fight their matches in

- Allows us to host athletes from other gyms for sparring (that is practice boxing matches)

- Will give us a centre and draw us closer together

- Will lift all of our athletes and provid fuel to fire their dreams

- Encourage new members to join our family!

Why support us? We have something for everyone!

Our club is made up of all types, some come to train to keep fit, others want to compete for fun, still others are wanting to compete at the highest levels internationally or are dreaming of making boxing their career. We have lawyers, actors, writers, doctors, oncology radiologists, students, singers, humanitarians, firefighter, police and military, and 2 pro boxers!

In addition to Italians we have athletes from Australia, Romania, Cuba, Peru, France, the Philippines and Colombia.

Our youngest member is 12 and our eldest is 59.

Since opening the gym we have had success at numerous competitions:

Highlights include:

- Our eldest member being rated 2nd in Italy (Masters) after competing in his first ever boxing comp at age 58.

- Gold, Silver and Bronze medals at the World Cup in San Marino

- Undercard fight for IBO title fight in Germany
