Build a Batwa House
In order to make a national park for the mountain gorillas, approximately 4,000 Echuya Batwa people were evicted from their ancestral homeland in the Impenetrable Forest of Western Uganda. Since their eviction, Batwa rights have been neither recognized nor respected, with many families still living in temporary shelters, unable to obtain individual land rights.
Through the Kellerman foundation, we will be helping to build a sturdy metal-roofed Batwa home on their assigned land, complete with a pit latrine and kitchen. The cost of building a house is $1,400. Any donations you could give us would be amazing. If we go over our goal, we will give the money to funding future home construction projects.
